CT services at Pala
A new multi-slice CT scanner has been installed in the radiology department at our Pala head office and is now in regular use. The unit replaces our earlier machine and allows most routine studies to be completed in a shorter scan time, which helps elderly patients and children who find it difficult to stay still.
Studies currently carried out on the new unit include:
- CT brain, plain and contrast
- CT of the chest and abdomen
- CT of the paranasal sinuses and temporal bone
- CT of the spine and other bony parts
- CT KUB
Scans are done on a referral from your doctor. For contrast studies you will be asked to come fasting and to bring a recent renal function report; our staff explain the preparation when you book, so please mention the study your doctor has written for.
Reports are read by our radiologist and are normally ready the same day. Films and a report copy are handed over at the radiology counter, and a soft copy can be shared on WhatsApp if you ask for it at the time of registration.
